I pay $1100 something for 12 months for both 2012 3700RL and 2012 F-350 long bed Dually, and its full timers insurance, 5yr full, next five prorated off of mfg suggested sale price. With high Liability cost.
Most Insurance I know about is on 6 months at a time. GMAC Insurance, and you get Good Sam discount also. Tags cost 5th wheel $120.00

Thank God the voters in WA st repealed that tax about 10 yrs ago ,I feel your pain Chip, that used to really P..S me off too ,Hopefully the people in Maine will get tired of that B.S. and repeal it also, I use to get around that by just getting $20.00 Trip permits every time i went somewhere

are you complaining about a $200 insurance bill? wow, what do you think insurance should be on a trailer?

and like they say above, it depends on lots of things, age of trailer, value, coverages and etc.

for our full time insurance it is $500 a year for full coverage.

Just paid ours... $1472.00 for full coverage, fulltimer insurance.. Full replacement and tons of extra that is necessary in Florida. That is just about double of what it was with the same company when we had a South Dakota address...

Another Mainiac here, that is tired of paying these ridiculous rates.
Our State Rep sympathasises but was not able to offer any encouragement on changing things.

I feel your pain, we too live in Maine and paid $2400.00 in excise tax. I think it is a rip off. When it bottoms out it we will still be paying around $400.00 for as long as we own it. Jim still gets so worked up about it, that when it's time to register, I do it as quietly as I can.....

My excise tax to register the Monty in Maine for one year was $2000. It goes down each year before it bottoms out in five years.

That really hurts and makes my blood boil.

When state reps say they can't help you, or they have no encouraging words for you, it's time to HELP them out of office. There are plenty of people willing to run for office that are willing to "help" the people that elect them. The problem is that elected office for the most part is a "permanent" position now just because the people are to complacent to see what's happening to them. Insurance companies own the legislators. There you have it. JMHO

What is this excise tax? That is more than I pay on my shop, 25 acre farm and my house!

Our full-time, full coverage insurance is around $978 annually, so $200 sounds too good to be true! We have had a claim which was handed quickly and with no problems.

I added my 5er as a rider on my P/U insurance. I believe it was $45/6mos. It is not a full replacement for 5 yrs.. rather only 3 yrs.. and then goes down to a retail value. Items in the rig are covered by homeowners ins. We are not full-timers.
