They walk among us!
We are currently in the Thousands Trail campground east of Batesville, Indiana. Yesterday morning we awoke to find no water in the place. Found out that the night before some enterprising over consumers of adult beverages (that was hard keeping that description family friendly )managed to unscrew a fire hydrant out of the ground. While these individuals reveled at the sight of their own personal "Old Faithful", the camp ground water tank drained empty. After repairs, it took all day yesterday and most of last night for the tank to refill and restore enough water pressure to take a shower.

Good thing they did not set their rig on fire since there would not be any water pressure to put out a fire. Stupid is as stupid does.

Many campgrounds are beginning to enforce a "no alcoholic beverage" rule and I do not blame them.

That would be nice in this place, Rich. The ground sprouts aluminum every night.

They can take all that aluminum over to the Batesville Casket Company and convert it into something they will need if they keep doing stupid things like that.

Sounds like the campground is not addressing the issue. Time to move on. It's very disappointing when campgrounds have rules such as no alcohol or no motorcycles. I would never patronize such a place. By not addressing the issue individually and punishing everyone it says a lot about the character or lack there of the manager and/or owners have. Hopefully the police were called and some low life's were charged with vandalism.

We had a group of 3 sites full of campers and "guests" at a state park we were at this past holiday weekend that while not as bad as you describe, played their music WAY too loud, let their kids run amok unsupervised, were loud themselves, rude and obnoxious, respected no ones privacy and generally ruined camping and enjoyment for all the other campers around them. Oh, and did I mention the 4 barking dogs per campsite. It was the least pleasant camping experience we had in many years. We had to call the rangers twice to address the madness. We are looking forward to a more pleasant camping season.
One highlight was having Rhonda and Jay (Rambling Roadrunners) from the MOC over for dinner and a walk around the park.
