Dave why are you selling your K & N filter and etc? Is it because it won't work on you new TV? I'm thinking of putting a K & N filter on my 2007 Chevy diesel. I had one on my old truck but it was a gas so don't know if the K & N will have the same results on the diesel I had on the gas rig!

Not at all, Ron. Just didn't want the maintenance on the filter. Mine came from the dealership with the K/N on and the OEM air intake in the box. I ran it for a few months, but then decided that I just wanted the stock filter/intake back on. Not sure if there was any difference...

I did get some improvement on the mileage with my K & N on the gas but I wasn't towing a fifth at that time. I did see about a 4-5 mpg better on the gas with the K & N but was wondering if anyone has had any experience with the diesels yet! Debating on whether to put one into the 2007 or not!

That would be a good question. I know some are concerned about the possibility of oil off the filter messing up the mass airflow sensor behind it. If there is an increase in mileage, I may try it again...

Do a search on dieselplace.com/forum you may find more information than you ever wanted to know on this subject and many other topics for the duramax.

Banks put my K&N filter on and it leaked due to poor instalation so I got this one, and I get a lot of air now and no more leaks, I put the K&N in storage untill I decide what to do with it.

I'd check with the dealer first. One web site said not to put it on the Duramax due to a 'breathing' problem. As long as I have the 100k warranty, I'm keeping my OEM.

There is a wealth of knowledge for Duramax owners at dieselplace.com. There was a study done on air filters with the results posted there, and it was determined that the stock filter worked best. There was an issue with oil contaminating the mass air flow sensor with the K&N, and those are kind of pricey to replace. Black Max
