Moving

Hi all,

I don't do much in writting to the board, but sure do read it everyday! Karen and I leaving Seattle and moving back to MN next week (27th, so PLEASE don't add too much in the next couple of weeks, I won't be connected till then. LOL

If any of you see a white Chev pulling a 2950RK, followed closely by a black Subaru along I-90 from Washington to Minnesota...wave!

See ya all later.

Bill and Karen

Bill and Karen,

We're leaving Northern CA on the 26th, heading for Spokane and taking I-90 east to Rapid City SD. We'll be in a white 95 Ford SC 4x4. We're not towing the Montana, but if we see you we'll wink.

Have a safe trip!

Hey Bill and Karen,
Keep your eyes open for me, I am hoping to be leaving Spokane on the 30th heading to Rapid City for a wedding. Might have the coach with me, not for sure yet.

Hey Dave, while you're heading towards Rapid City on I-90 why don't you take exit 256 between Butte and Bozeman and slide south about 112.9 miles to Redrock RV Park in Island Park, ID, and stop in and say 'hello'? We'll be here until 9/15...

Bill and Karen, that applies to you folks, too, and anyone else who can be in the area. In any case, have a safe trip!

Hey Steve,
You might just never know when and where I will show up. I will have to see how much time I will have, could head your way after the wedding and say "hello".

Thank you all for the kind words!

About the gas prices, all I can say is...glad we sold the house, it'll pay for the fuel! From what I see, the prices are less as one goes East. Too bad Karen's Subaru can't pull the Monty, that lil critter gets close to 30mpg on the highway.

See ya all later.

Safe travels. We just returned from the Midwest and found the fuel prices less than here in central Oregon - but then, seems like we are always higher than everyone else!

We paid $2.79 for diesel in Washington last month. Arrived in Minnesota last week and it was $2.43 but alas things changed quickly. Now $2.59 and it keeps getting worse.

Mel, 2.47 sounds like a bargain at this point and location, but I guess that's what 'they' want us to think. We drove to Idaho Falls today and diesel at nearly every station was 2.899. Some were 2.999. We know of one station that doesn't have signs up with the prices but the pump says 2.719. We've been filling there. And that happens to be the closest station, too! Just 8 miles down the road.

Hi All!
I guess I shud change the topic to 'moved.' Everything went great! The truck and Monty just went along smootly. We won't talk about the gas prices, but the 5er was FULL of 'stuff' (too much I think)so mileage was only about 9 MPG. LOVE that Allison trany, especially over the 6% downhill passes in Idaho.

We got here the 30th of Aug in Fairmont MN and just as busy as two cats in a hot sand box trying to get moved in.

Still don't have 'our own' internet setup, glad my sister in law is across the street.

Thanks again for all your good wishes.

Bill and Karen

P.S. If the spelling is bad, sorry 'she' doesn't have spell check installed...LOL

Since we used to live in Topeka, KS, we are subscribed to a free daily online version of their newspaper. In that paper today it reports gas prices have dropped sixty cents per gallon since the peak following Katrina. 2.599 now. I see on the Flying J site and the other online gas price check sites that most other places have dropped, too. But NOT here in the Island Park, ID, and West Yellowstone, MT, area! Prices here went UP. I filled up with diesel yesterday at the best price I could find. 3.249. The highest was 3.449. I guess they know we are here. 25.43 gallons. $82.63. I see even many places in California are cheaper than that including Bakersfield's Flying J at 2.959.

Steve, That is just highway robbery. For SHAME. Guess you and Vicki must be catching up on reading or something. That is way out of line.

What I'm having a hard time figuring out is why did the gas go so much higher than diesel but now the gas is coming down and the diesel is staying the same. i.e. Gas went to $3.39 for unleaded and diesel went to $2.99 or .30 less than gas. Now the gas has dropped to $2.64 and the deisel is only down to $2.79 or .15 higher than gas.

Steve-
Texas will make you happier about diesel prices when you get here this winter....most are $2.59-2.64 right now and easing down since Katrina bumped everything up, average was about $2.39-2.46 before the storm.
