We spent a recent weekend at this rather remote but beautiful campground in middle Alabama, near Tuscaloosa. The campsites are either right on Lake Holt or set in a small valley next to a babbling brook. Typical of Corp of Engineer campgrounds, the campsites and facilities are well maintained. An added attraction is the Bankhead Lock and Dam and viewing of the barges traveling down the lake. I guess the fishing must be good, too, since there were boats going out in 30' weather. Just be sure that you have everything you need....it's 25 miles to a good store. It must be beautiful in the spring.

jrgwdenner thanks for the information. As you can see we are from Alabama and have been to this location. It is not very far from our home, so we must get there this spring to see the scenery and do some fishing.
