The Sat question...Playmaker Dual roof mount or Trav'ler?

The question...Dish Playmaker on a roof mount or Wineguard Trav'ler on roof? Will the Playmaker roof mounted be robust enough compared to Trav'ler considering it's about $1k cheaper? Or pay the bucks and go with the Trav'ler? Appreciate the thoughts in advance.

The two options offer differing capabilities. For us the Travler was the option that provided what we needed.

Travler for us as it is the only one that will work with the Hopper 3 from dish. Easy peesy, one button and done.

We're fine with what we have currently, but we had a Traveler on the old rig and if I quit making mods long enough to save up the money we'll have a traverler again on this one.

My standard manual Dish 1000.2 mounted to a surveyor's tripod works just great with the Hopper3 and can set up in 15 minutes or less.

Also have a manual 1000.3WA(hybrid LNB). Purchased it when our Winegard had to be removed for service. Now serves as another option in the rare times that our Travler is blockedf by vegetation or other obstructions.

Thanks everyone on the ideas... looks like we will get a Trav'ler... as a footnote we do currently have a Pathway X2 and will keep it as a backup if the Trav'ler isn't able to see the Sats. The DW feels this is way to go so she doesn't have to worry about me climbing up to the roof with the Pathway. Getting older is the Sh***.
