Unhappy Dometic Power awning wire cover

As the title indicates there is a cover over the wiring on the awning on the motor side of the awning (front of the trailer). Anyhow the trim piece that creates the wire chase came out and I'll be gosh danged if I can figure out how to snap it back in place. And it is not just me, I've two neighbors that have also take a crack at it. I know how it needs to fit and I see how "I think" it needs to snap in, I just can't figure out the trick to actually get it to snap in.

If anyone else has had this problem, please, please, help me with a solution. Thanks!

Since the bottom of the section where it came out is blocked by a pin that fastens the whole thing together, how do I do that?

Alrighty, I see now that there is a way to remove that pin.

Now, another question since you have become the expert, does the awning need to be fully extended or partially? Does that side need some support when the pin is removed? I'm an old guy so is this a one or two person job? I can get help if needed.

I'm pretty handy but I do ask a lot of questions of folks that seem to have the answers before I tackle something.

Thanks in advance!!

You can, do it in the stowed position, but keep in mind that gas shock is wanting to extend. If I remember correctly you won't have to completely remove the pin, but a couple big zip ties or a helper would be handy.
