Our 1st weekend in our 3400
We just got home from our 1st weekend with our new 08 3400RL. We are so excited with our new rig we booked our next trip in a week! For what it's worth, here is a recap of our experiences.
We had printed out the PDI check list that we had found on this forum and started our venture. It became clear that this was going to be a waste of time. We had done 2 other PDI's on TT for SOB that were very complete and professional. This was not to be and for us it was worth it to just cut it short. We had plan "B" as the dealer had offered to put us up at a nearby KOA, nice CG!
Our plan was to get settled, use all the systems, Friday, Saturday and return the RV on Sunday with a list of warranty issues. May not be the recommended way, but it worked for us.
Early Saturday morning, we realized that we had electrical problems. Thanks to all that helped on this forum. I had also contacted our salesman and true to his word, he was there to help. He made a few trips to the CG with the supplies that we needed and we were set for a stormy weekend, playing in our new Condo on wheels. (BTW, the RV was fine, the issue was with the outside cords.) Kudos to the salesman!!
We had a great time just getting settled, reading this forum to answer questions and get tips. I make a step by step list for hitching and unhitching using the superglide manual. This was a great help for both of us to get used to the new procedures. We hooked up and dropped it off at the dealer with no problems both of us reading the notes step by step, taking our time.
Our list of repairs was short and contained only a few items that we might have found if we had a great PDI but since we planned to go back anyway, it worked out fine.
Thanks again to all that put the effort into this forum! It truly enhances the ownership of this product. We both think of MOC as our new best friends!!

Great to hear a good report on a grand experience!
We have 3 years to wait for our fulltiming, but reading about others doing it helps.
We hope you have a continuing positive experience.

Congratulations, Ken and Marilyn, on a great first weekend. May you have many more. This is another example of how critical a good dealer is to the overall satisfaction with a new unit. And, you have a great floorplan in the 3400. We are going into our fourth season in ours and we really have enjoyed it. That is a great way to do a PDI - camping near the dealer and returning it on Sunday. We will keep that in mind.

Sounds like your approach is right for your situation. There is no "right way". Glad things are working for you. Happy RVing.....
