New Water Pump

I am getting ready to replace my factory original water pump just for more pressure. What did you replace yours with, and how do you like it?
I rarely boondock. Mostly use it while traveling to flush the toilet, and during freezing weather when outside pipes will freeze. Power toilet, and faucets. Thinking about 4.5 gpm so I have plenty of capacity.

I went with a Shurflow Revolution rated at 55psi. Works well for us.

Agree,Shurflow is a good pump at a reasonable price.

Sorry, didn't pay any attention. Since we do boondock on occasion we wanted the water pressure for the shower, but don't want to move anymore water into the tank than we have to. I can tell you from recent experience that it moves more water than we can when hooked up to city water. At our RV home base the rural water system can only provide 40psi so things actually improve if we shift to our on board system.

You got me curious so I looked it up on line. 4.0 gallons per minute for the model we use. There is a lower flow rate model also.

As soon as we purchased our Montana I knew I was going to replace the factory installed fresh water pump. Not sure what brand it is. It is extremely loud and from our boating days I know there are much higher quality, quiet ones out there. I may be in luck now, our factory one seems to be broke so when we get to the dealer this Wednesday maybe I can talk to them about an upgrade.

Dick, those Shurflow Revolutions seem to come in 2 different models (4008 and 4048). One is 3gpm and one is 4gpm, but both 55psi. Can you hear yours run? One of these may be what I am looking for.

Yes, you can still hear it run, it's just not as bad.

Replaced the factory original with one of the Shur Flo models. It works really well; not as quiet as I had hoped, but at least the knocking is gone when not hooked to a city water connection.

we do not use ours very often but it is not overly noisy. A Rv friend of ours has one of those so called quiet units and I did not think there was mjuch difference,

If you're worried about water consumption get an oxygenics shower head. They flow less water and give an amazing spray. With a high flow pump you'll likely find it it be too much pressure

I added a flow adjuster/shutoff valve. The oxygenics came with one but it did not fit to my liking. I found a chrome one on eBay for a few bucks.
