Had repairs done by other vendors?

Has any MOCer had repairs done by others than Keystone dealers? We have a frame flex issue and no Keystone dealer with the experience or inclination to fix our unit- We do have an experienced vendor who can do the job, but Keystone is reluctant to send helpful details to my vendor- What experience has other MOCers had? HELP!!!!- THANX in advance for your input!! Don

I had wheel grease seal/ brake replacement done by Camping World under warranty. Keystone authorized it.

We see you are in South Dakota. Perhaps a call and subsequent authorized trip to Goshen is in order?

Had my axles realigned by Atlas Spring and Axle here in Wichita ... Keystone paid for it. This may not be a good example as most dealers farm out their suspension work anyway. Few have the facilities or trained personnel for this job.

Had our axles on a prior Montana realigned by a shop in Elkhart that Keystone recommended to me. We had to pay for it, though.

Our Monty has already had the Goshen experience- We are now out of warranty and are seeking Keystone assistance- We would appreciate if they would share their experteise(sp?) with our vendor but they are reluctant to do so- JHMO- Don

We have called Keystone and asked them to recommend a vendor/repair shop in the area we are in and have done that and paid...

Today, we will call Team Montana to request an approved vendor who can repair our frame failure- Seems redundant to secure their approval to have our repairs made- JHMO- Don

When our 2955 caught fire and was subsequently dropped off the towtruck 3 times we had all the repairs done by Almaden RV in San Jose, CA.

Over $20,000 in damage but we got it back better than new.

After 2 calls to Team Montana and a week of silence, I got a call from Goshen- It appears Montana will work with an outside vendor under certain conditions- My situation is currently being researched- We are patiently awaiting a favorable outcome- My faith in Montana is partially restored- The outcome of our dilemma(sp?) will be posted when the results are in- THANX to all who responded!!! Don

Keystone will usually find a vendor that they know can do the work properly. Not any vendor will do.
