Steve,
It is a RV5 Extended King-Pin, by PopUp Industries
You can check it out on this web site www.popuphitch.com/rv5.htm
I have had great success with it.
I never have to get out and move a slider hitch.

Bill,
Thanks for your reply on the Montana pin box with the SuperGlide hitch. I had a 1/4" piece of flat stock welded onto the pin box as a rear extension and it looks like it will work out just fine. We are now looking forward to picking up our first Montana on Friday (4/15). I'm trusting that the extra expense of the Pullrite hitch will be worth it.

Pete,
Guaranteed that you'll love it. We've had ours 5 months now, and have taken 7 trips with it. I've been in several situations were I was forced to make very sharp turns with no real chance to get out to release a hitch, and was thrilled that all I had to do was make the turn. They also make a nice cover for the hitch which keeps it clean and dresses up the bed of your truck. Good Luck!

Bill, Who is "They"?

I checked on the PullRite web site and there is no mention of a cover for any of their hitches that I could see. I have the Super 5th 15.5K hitch. I've had it for only 5 months and it is already rusting badly. I'm going to paint it Real Soon Now and a good cover to protect it would be a Good Thing (tm).

Pointers?

Thanks

Eric

Eric,
I got something in the mail last fall about the Superglide cover they were now offering. I cant seem to find that paper with all the info, might be worth calling PullRite and talking to one of their customer service reps for more info.

Oh. It seems to be only available for SuperGlide, not Super 5th.

I'll call them sometime and see if that is truely the case. I want to keep my hitch clean too....

I didn't realize PullRite only made it for the SuperGlide. There are generic hitch covers sold by Camping World and others.

Last Monday backing into a very tight spot, I very carefully and slowly jacknifed the truck to 90 degrees. Had MAMA and Others watch both the back of the cab, tail of the truck, etc. With the superglide in towing position, it cleared the RV and cab by more that two inches. That was a relief to know.

2005 3400RL, 2004 Chevy Silverado crew cab, short bed.

Surprising how much closer cab and trailer appear to be from inside the cab than when viewing it from outside, huh?

There is another little item to remember with the Pullrite Superglide - if someone needs to tow the Monty and they do not have the Superglide hitch you will need a conversion kit. Comes in 2 pieces (make sure you have both).

Given my wonderful (but exceedingly short) memory I find the automatic function of this hitch to be just right.

Am I the only one that can do a 90 deg. with a shortbox and a std. Reece 20K hitch without hitting the back of the cab? I also have a tote-tray and a storage box on the truck hitch.

Does anyone have the cover for the SuperGlide? I have been giving this some serious consideration as I would like to protect the hitch from rain when we are camping but have been a little concerned about its quality.

Wordsmith,
We got the cover a couple of months ago. When we ordered it, they still hadn't started production yet, so they were having special on them, under $100. I really like it and keep it on the hitch whenever the hitch isn't in use. It fits really well. Only complaint is the adhesive on the velcro that hooks the front and back in place. It pulled off the paint on the hitch. Other than that, it's great!

Bill and Ann, is that without a slider? If so, where is your Reese mounted? Ours is directly over the axle (which is spec for a shortbed) and I can do maybe 75 degrees without popping the slider. I'm not sure if I can do a full 90 with the slider popped or not.

Thanks, Bill, that puts my mind at ease. In the paperwork I received from PullRite after registering the hitch, it had a section about the cover for the SuperGlide, but I believe the price quoted there was $149. I just did not want to spend that kind of money if it was not going to be of good quality.

We love our Superglide and now wouldn't be without it. We figure it was worth it since an collision with the cab would be a $500.00 deductible for the Truck and a $500.00 deductible for the Montana. The price of a Reese Slider Hitch was only about $800.00 to $1000.00 more. If we ever buy a new truck it will go with us.

We are looking into having the Mor-Ryde pin box installed now. I've heard nothing but good things about it.

I made a cover for us a couple of years ago. One wasn't available then. I made it out of Marine Grade Vinyl. It's held up well and we use it year round, all the time. I think I only spent about 30 or 40 dollars on all the materials.

Steve/sreigle: We have the standard Reece 20K. NO SLIDER. It is also over the axle.

Bill and Ann, that's great you can do a 90 with yours. I cannot do that with mine. Decent, but not 90.
