Window Shades

We have purchased a High Country fifth wheel.. Model 330 RL. It has pull down roller shades that are beige in color. They work fine.. Want to know if there is a replacement for the three windows in the bedroom? We are currently in Alaska and we do black out the windows (it does not get dark LOL).. Just wondering if they (Montana) make or can tell me where to purchase black pull down shades? Thanks Gary

We have seen ones that will fit at Home Depot.

Contact Irwin or Irvine Shades......they are the ones that made the shade for the HC. I got a new spring assembly foe one of my shades for free from them.....easy to deal with. But....it is either Erwin or Ervin Shades.....can't remember which it is....they are in Indiana I believe.

Under warranty my 2017 had 7 of those shades replaced. Not worth buying or maybe not even repairing.

They came on my 2016 Cougar, these on the HC are junk in comparison.

MCD's are the best, but they aren't even close to cheap.

Ours work great, but a friend with an identical unit has had nothing but trouble. One person posted one time that he had blinds made of the same size at Home Depot, then switched out the fabric part with the Montana ones. That sounded like a good fix to me.

I had one that came loose on the bottom in the bedroom but i finally figured out how to fix it. I wish we had blackouts too because the hubby has a hard time sleeping with light. If you find something that works comparably, I'd like to replace the bedroom ones.

We have a 2015 3611 which came with the roller shades downstairs but not across from the bathroom or in the bedroom. You can get shades from MCD without them installing as we just did. They have a sheet online where you take the measurements and email it in. They call you to go over everything, get your payment info and give you a ship date. They were going to ship July 3but they called and shipped early so we got ours last week. This might not work for you right now but you'll know for the future. In the meantime I went to Walmart and got some dark felt. My husband screwed cup hooks into the valance and I attached binder clips to the felt and hooked them on the cup hooks. It wasn't pretty but it worked.

We also have had problems. One shade was broken (would not roll up) from the factory. Replaced upon purchase. Have also replaced back window shade. Now two others are broken. Would like to replace all with some other window treatment. Looks like Montana will be doing so on new models if complaints continue.

Pull Down Shades

Lowe's or Home Depot. They will both cut to size. We have the accordion style shades in the bedroom. I installed the pull down black out shades behind each and it works great.

We had Irvine shades installed in our 2013 3582RL this last winter down in AZ. They were less than half the price of the MCD shades. We really like them except the night shade came unrolled while on our way back home. We called Irvine and they sent us out a new spring for the shade and as soon as I get some time I'm going to install it and we'll have a new shade again. I think the problem we had was because we had it partway down while traveling and it should have been rolled up. All the others were up and we had no problems with them. Live and learn! The daytime screens are excellent and they do keep the unit cooler.

No idea if up/down should make a difference. On our Cougar I pulled thousands of miles with every MCD blind down.

I am with you John. I know have over 5K miles with the MCD shades and we keep them down, particularly when it is hot outside. We have had no problems and the RV stays cooler despite some of the crappy roads we use.
