Rotting??? Our steps are metal...some superficial rust we take care of from time to time, but otherwise, no rotting.

I think he means the inside suicide step. I would look for the cause of it first..

Thats a problem I have not seen before. Water/moisture got in there somehow. 2003 Unit, lots of time for wood rot.

Have you been able to repair the step? I hope you have been able to deal with this by now but just in case I'll yap on a bit.
I don't have the problem but I do have that inside step, 2955RL, 2008
Without looking at it carefully, it's dark now, I expect one would have to cut out the old material. On mine it looks like the wood is simply screwed to two light formed steel channels for support. The screws are covered by the rubber coating and the aluminum edge sill trim. Remove that , remove the screws, and it looks like the wood would come out 'relatively' easily. What do I know?
For replacement I think I'd use epoxy coated/sealed plywood. Wrap the ply with one layer of 6oz cloth and seal the plywood ends with some thickened epoxy covered with one layer of 6oz. cloth. Do this in a well ventilated area as epoxy can be a problem for some people and use rubber gloves.
Some screws will neccesarily penetrate the frp so use a good caulking/sealer compound or I like Butyl tape or the roof caulking.
On mine I expect water could get in from the bottom door edge or road spray tossed by the tires. Seal those edges. I added mud/spray flaps just behind the rear tires as my stairs used to get plastered in the rain. No more at least not from that source.

I would also call Keystone Customer service. I've been told by a Keystone factory rep that the floor is warranted for life. Whether that includes the step or not I'm not sure, but it would be worth it to ask.

I can't imagine anything being given a life time warranty on a trailer, especially something like the floor.

Last two years that's what they said during the factory tour at the time they show the floor being installed. Plus I'm aware of a 2004 model the fixed the floor on.
