Had the MorRyde IS w/Disc Brakes installed at the end of the Fall Rally. Both great up-grades, as for the Disc, I wouldn't own another unit without them (Have an SOB on order and it includes the "G" rated tires and Disc Brakes). Stopping is greatly improved and not worried about grease contamination.

Have had them for five years, love them. Had them installed at the same time I installed MorRyde IS.

I have to ask, but just how big of a job is the change over?? Does it require you to change out the axles??

I have the IS and the disk brakes. Much improved stopping.

When I trade rigs I will probably do the same.

Don't forget to check your brake controller. I thought I had read in the past that converting from electric to hydraulic brakes MIGHT require a change for whatever controller you use. Some controllers only work with all electric systems while others can work with either.

This would be a nice mod to have but we don't go out enough to justify the cost. I don't like driving in the rain when towing because I had an occasion that the controller reported intermittent faults even though the brakes still worked and checked out fine. The brake controller alarm worries DW more than me. I understand a hydraulic disc system could prevent this besides the improved stopping capability. There's no question they would be a good mod.

I think the factory does not do this as standard yet, because they make too much money on the option and drums are probably a lot cheaper to install.

Disk brakes require a brake controller that will work with hydraulic braking systems. From what I've seen posted, most factory installed TV controllers will not work with them.

I am having the Moryde I/S with disk brakes installed next week. Everybody I talk to who has had it done says they will not own another trailer that does not have it installed. Everybody I have talked to says it makes a big difference regardless of trailer brand.
