Macerator Pump
Well I have installed the pump and it came out as a clean install. I ran a # 10 wire from the battery compartment under the belly along with all the other wires to the area I wanted to come out of the belly skin, the plug conector which is for 20 amp 220 VAC, it has a sidewase prong so that a 110 cant be pluged into the pump by mistake. by my choise on plug style. I reinforced the hanger bracket for the extra weight of the pump, and I will still use the clear elbow for a visual on the flushing water. I have the pictures on a tag typy thing so it dosen't take to much space on the forum I hope you done mind tagging them to see..

TT2,
Good job on the install. Where did you purchase the macerator? I have been shopping around a bit looking for a good price.

I purchased the Rv Sani-Con Systems, and I found the best deal was dealing with Mr. Lannie Stegall the system I got is the 5800-6004 it comes with everthing that is needed to install the unit. I did not have to buy any wire, connectors or fuses it was a complete package.
______________________________
The Model 5800, which has the 21' hose is priced on the internet at $549.95, if you call in the order it is $399.95 as well as the 5800-6003 which is just like the 9104 except it has the 21' retractable hose.

Don slick post and slick install! I'm guessing the clear tube is for the Gray water bypass? What is the weight and were do you plan on storing the pump and hose as you travel? I see what looks like a 6" PVC tube under the trail do you plan on using this to store the pump and hose? See-Ya

Beleave it or not the whole thing can be put in a 1 cu foot box, pump, hose + room for an extra colapsable 21 foot hose, goose neck conecter for sewer, an adapter conector for the rv park.
As for the 6" tube I will keep that and it's contents as a stand if I ever have pump failure.
I will add a picture of all items in the box, Less 1 extra 21 foot hose as soon as I can get to tiny pics.

Missing something I guess. Please don't take this wrong! What really is the benefit? I mean I could see if it was like motorhome, where it is permanently installed by the tank and small hose to reduce weight and bother of big hose. But this way looks like a lot of trouble for what ever is gained. Guess I am missing the purpose for having it. could someone enlighten me please.

Well I guess I just wanted it, I have seen them work on MH,TT, boats, and why not on the 5th wheel. There is always something out there that somebody has purchased for there RV that just doesn't seem to work for another, maybe it's not your thing. But when I come home with a full load in all three tanks, and have to move the waist 50 to 60 feet up a 3 foot incline I need a pump, good side I dont have to use any specal TP, right from the pantry to the trailer. plus I got to buy all this stuff before I retire cuss I wont have the money to spend on such great goodies the wife WILL put the blinders on me .

A lot of boondockers use these pumps to pump the sewage up into a tank in the bed of thier pickup and then go empty them at a dump facility. I think they are a great thing to have and it is on my "some day wishlist"
Good job on the install, Don.

TT2,
Thank you for the pics and installation info.
We have ordered the FloJet pump from Camping World, who by the way has it on special.
We need this at 2 of our relatives where we can park but the sewer connection is half way across the yard. Saves having to use the honey wagon.
Love this forum, we have learned a lot.

Also great for parking in the relative's drive way for a month (Sister-in-law in Asheville NC, daughter in Las Vegas, son in Manitoba, ca - until they figure out their electric bill with you plugged into their house w/ 50 amps for your 2 A/Cs...
Did I mention that I have called all of these family members and told them they needed to re-do their electric in their house to get ready for us to visit? I think I may have one of two almost conned into it... Wait til they find out where the end result of the Macerator is going.

I have a few new picks that you might be interested in for that up hill drain to keep that water in the hose when you turn the pump off, water does flow down hill when the pump is off.

After I studied this little muncherator, and what I have to do to get the tanks emptied I noticed that if I am pumping out and up a hill and when I’m empty, I have to turn the pump off according to the instructions “do not run dry”. So once the pump is off, all that waist that is in the hose, now according to Newtins Law of Gravity all will flow down the hill to the pump and back into the trailer conector, so I see a problem and I think I might have a fix for it, and I will share it with you it can be used on any waist pump if wanted.
Parts needed. 1 PVC Ball Valve ¾” with glue able ends.
4 PVC Unions ¾” with glue able ends.
1 pcs. of clear plastic tubing with a 1” ID 3 inches long.
6 pcs. of ¾” PVC pipe cut 2” long.
2 pcs. of ¾” PVC pipe cut 1 & ¾” long
6 Pipe clamps to fit a tubing of 1 & ½” and ¼” wide.
Get ball valve and the 2. 1 & 3/4” and one unions glue the pipes to the valve now the union to each end as seen in Picture. Tag it.
http://i2.tinypic.com/qoudk6.jpg
Get the other 3 unions and the 6 pcs of 2” long pipe ¾” and glue them into the union as in the picture. Tag it.
http://i2.tinypic.com/qouelz.jpg
Get clear plastic tubing and attach to pump along with ½ of the union as seen in photo. Tag it.

http://i2.tinypic.com/qouh6x.jpg
You can use the ball valve to turn off the flow of water after the pump is off, making a small amount of water flow backword the the hose can be removed and taken to the top of the run and then open the ball valve to let it flow into the sewer line. And shown without the valve for regular use at campground. Tag it.

Thats it on this topic for me I promis I wont say anything more about it.

Always like to see someone else (not in my CG) try something new with their black tank before I try it...
Reminds of the joke where the National Highway Safety Board secretly put voice recorder "black boxes" a large number of cars to record the last 15 secs of voice inside a vehicle just prior to a fatal crash. The results were predictible. 45% (the most common phrase) of almost every region of the country recorded, "Oh, s***!". However, there was a unusual statistic in one small area of the country. In the U.P. of Michigan 87% of fatal crash last words were, "Hold my beer, I'm going to try somethin'..."
Let me know how it turns out, Don. Looks like it should work. I'll hold your beer...
