Rechargeable Flashlight?

We recently purchased a 2005 Montana Mountaineer 329RLS fifth wheel. A standard feature on it is a rechargeable flashlight beside the entrance door but the flashlight itself is missing from our unit. The charger dock is still there. Does anyone have a similar model and know what brand/type of flashlight this was. We would like to find one to replace it

If you cannot match, (after 11 years unlikely), many reasonably priced rechargeables on the market, and you can use existing wiring for the new docking station. Just make sure A.C. or D.C.

This was a topic years back as I remember no one was successful finding a replacment.It sure came in handy just inside the door especially during those early AM departures#128522;

The original flashlight was an "AVF-1 Rechargeable 12V Flashlight" supplied by Audiovox Specialized Applications at www.asaelectronics.com
or 800-688-3135. You might give them a try although after 11 years, there may be no current source.

There are other 12V rechargeable flashlights out there. Many are designed fire/police operations and costs run around $100. The OEM light was a constant source of trouble and Montana, tired of the complaints, discontinued them around 2007. You can buy a ton of flashlights much brighter than the original for that kind of $$. Build or buy a wall mount box to hold it and you have the same thing.

I purchased a rechargeable flashlight from Costco for around $25-$30. I plugged it in the kitchen and at night it becomes a night light. The only drawback is that it needs 110V to keep charged. It is very compact light.

I keep an LED Flashlight just inside my sidewalk side basement attached to the wall with (sticky backed)Velcro. Batteries last about 30 hours; have never needed to replace them in the last year.

I have a Black and Decker 20 volt. The battery can be used to power all kinds on tools that can be bought separate. Total cost about $100 and it works great for a walking flashlight. This isn't what you ask for but this is a great substitute if you can't find the one you are looking for.

I had the OEM flash light in our 2004 montana and when my RV was broken in to way back when, I called Keystone and I was told it was discontinued end of story.....
I have looked for something as good as the old one but no luck. I'm looking into the LED type with a 12 VDC charger now.

Had this flashlight in my '06 for the first five years. I repaired it 2 times after the third failure then gave up on it and removed everything associated with it.

Went with a 110v rechargeable from Black and Decker. Fortunately, we rarely boondock so not having a 12v rechargeable is not a problem.

The original light was pretty much junk on our 2006 2955 RL, so we replaced it with a Streamlight Stinger, which has given us good service.

What type flashlight you always keep in your car? I need a backup light source because I drive often at night. I am looking for a good rechargeable flashlight. Any advice?

I use one of these. It can be charged by 12 volt DC or 120 volt AC. Very bright and also has a flashing light setting in case of an emergency.

We purchase our 2005 Montana fifthwheel used. The Audiovox flashlight was mounted on the outside/backside of the cupboard under the kitchen sink and is by the stairs. It doesn't work any longer, and I can see from this forum, they are obsolete. The problem is if I remove the old one, it leaves 2 screw holes and about a 5/8" hole. Does anyone else have this issue and how did you solve the problem?

I moved our downstairs thermostat from under the coffee bar to the wall beside the pantry to get a more accurate reading of the room temperature (seemed to be in a dead zone under there).

I used a black blanking plate and a couple of small tapered head wood screws with the heads colored with a magic marker to cover the hole. I'm pretty happy with the result.
