Carol, the ladder could be more trouble than it's worth. I don't think you would have a lot of time in an RV fire... Both DW and I could be out - maybe scraped and bruised - by the time I remember where I put the ladder and rig it up...

But I see I'm really off topic a little.

I am going to take my door handle assembly apart today and see what it looks like inside and lube it good.

Before I go out the bedroom window I will wrap myself in my blankets and head thru the fire for the door. Yeah, I may get some burns but there ain't no way this 300+ pounder is going out no window. No Way, No How.

Glad (sort of) that I wasn't the only one that ended up locked in because the screws backed out. I ended up crawling out the escape window in the bedroom, should have remembered there was one in the living area (lot shorter drop). If I had really thought about it, going out through the laundry shoot would have been easier. I too now keep a screw driver in the kitchen.
