Problem with door locks

During our trip this weekend we found ourselves "locked out" inadvertently quite frequently. At first I thought he was locking me out and he thought I was locking him out. Then we were both outside and found ourselves locked out. As the weekend progressed this happened more frequently. By the end of the trip we realized that the problem was with the top lock in both the back and front doors. We would have to turn the key in the lock back and forth repeatedly before being able to unlock the door.

Any idea what the problem is and -- more importantly -- what the solution is?

In the old days of single doors and probably older locks this problem and others came from the bolts that holds the lock together being too loose. Not sure what their putting in the new rigs, but it's still something to check.

We have had to replace the door lock twice, over the years, believe Fastec is the source. If you unscrew the inside plate, you should find a lock number and telephone number for Fastec. However the first thing I would do is apply some graphite powder into the locks to lubricate them.

There was a recall on the lock tumblers. Ours was covered.

Thanks to all !! I just noticed on our last trip that the lock was acting unusual. Yep, mine is on the recall list.
Thanks for sharing!

boje, Keystone said my unit is not affected by any recalls when I called them. Thank you for posting the link because we *are* affected by the recall!

Strangely, the front door lock is from Fastec but the back door lock is a Global Link lock and it's also doing the same thing! Fasted told me that I would need to call Global Link about the other lock and no, their cylinder won't fit in the Global Link lock.
