Level up expertise and experience needed

First of all, we absolutely love this system! The only problem we are having is when we use auto-retract there is one rear jack that will not fully retract (it stays extended about three inches). I have been manually retracting it after the auto-retract says that it is finished (but it is not). Any ideas or similar experience?

I had one that would do that. I ran it down a long way and back a couple times, it works now

We notice this several times and believe it is when the temperature is lower, but not sure. We have run it up manually, so are interested in the best solution, hope someone has better answer.

Give Lippert a call. That sounds like an answer we should all have.

Ours also did that in the beginning but then stopped. Maybe air in the system that gets worked out.

Don't know whether it would help, but I spray silicone on all of the exposed jack legs before I retract them. This not only lubricates but helps wash away much of the dirt that has accumulated during a long stay.

Hello Bingo, mine has also done that once or twice and I noticed it was more likey whent he weather was a little colder or they had been down a long time. I have not had any issues with them during warm weather or after a 2 to 3 day stay somewhere.

Our also did that the rear jack on the drivers side. I added a small amount of fluid and it has never done it again.. Gosh another "minor" problems that many of us have. How many have reported that to Keystone... We did.

Ours also did that when new, cold weather or not. Since doing the stiction fluid fix for the popping problem, none have stopped since. Not sure if that was the fix, or if like some said, just getting them broke in was the cure.

DONANDBONNIE,
You might want to rethink the silicone spray. Use the same fluid as in the tank to wipe down the cylinders.

Per the LCI manual,

5. If jacks are down for extended periods, it is recommended to spray
exposed leveling jack rods with a silicone lubricant every seven days for protection. If your coach is located in a salty environment, it is
recommended to spray the rods every 2 to 3 days.

WOW, that sure is different than what I was taught about hydraulic cylinders. But since what you have are called rods, they must have better wipers and seals.

When our jack would not fully retract it was in the summer. I do not think it is temperature related. We ran the jack up and down several times on manual and it still would not retract. As stared we added a bit of fluid to the reservoir and it went up. We did report that to Keystone customer service and they were no help. We called lippert and they said to check the fluid level. My guess is that the proper amount of fluid was not in the reservoir at build. I forgot to ask who puts in the fluid keystone or lippert.

As Rohrmann says, we got the idea for the silicone spray right out of the manual.

I think someone at the rally said if we were parked for an extended period with hydraulics out we should retract them every couple weeks.
