3850 kitchen slide
3850 owners might want to keep an eye on the kitchen slide. The end by the frig has torn the flooring comming in and going out. Tech says he is not sure of the solution but working on it. adjusting doesnt seem to be working. Just what ya want is a tear in the floor of your new coach, right.

I am thinking that on ours there is some kind of plastic disk beneath that portion of the cabinet. Will have to check to make sure, and if so will post a pic this weekend.

There is a plastic disk in that area that Bingo mentioned. The slide is also on rollers. You did not say what model year your 3850 was. Previous models had a plastic bar stapled to the bottom of the slide that was the culprit. Keystone replace the bar in later models with rollers.

Be sure to let us know what fix they come up with. I may go ahead and add some felt to the slider, will have to look. Do you or they know what caused the tear?
Oh, and even with the mishap, congrats on your new rig. We are so looking forward to our maiden trip next week!

Guys,
When we first looked at our 3850, the vinyl floor was torn in that same spot. I was patched (very well) and the service manager said that they found a stone under the edge of the slider. We have not had any issues since and we do carefully check our shoes when we enter.
Keep me posted if you all have any other issues.
Mike

Got the coach back from CW yesterday. Because we are leaving for 5 months decided to wait till next spring for a permenant fix. Right now I slide a piece of carpet under tha teflon foot when I slide in or out. Might wait and have it fixed next Sept. at the MOC ralley. If it messes the floor covering up, then new floor covering also. But right now "I can't see Texas from here." Going to start rolling that way come Monday, good Lord willing.

Hi
We got some minor damage because a ball point pen had gotten under the kitchen slide.
I have had my wife drive the truck and trailer while I followed in the car. The average 90 degree curve on the expressway will cause enough centrifugal force at 60 MPH to make the kitchen slide lean out away from the trailer at the top. Any small thing on the floor will go under the slide. We are sure that is how the ball point pen got under ours.
