Looking for new tires

We are currently in British Columbia, and will soon be going in an easterly direction on our way home to Ontario. Somehow along this long trip we are on (left May 28), we managed to get a bent axle. This was replaced a few days ago. As a result, there is uneven wear on one tire and another tire was rough. We had them put the spare on.

We want to get all new tires on the way home. Calgary is our preferred place because of the sales tax situation, and also we have a bit of extra time the day we go through there.

Based on other postings, Sailuns are the preferred tire. Unfortunately, the tire dealer (Fountain) cannot get any. We will be in Calgary on July 20. He was also unable to find the Goodyear tire people recommended. He recommended another brand. This brings me to my question.

Has anyone had any experience with Samson tires? The tire dealer recommended them. They are 14 ply and we are looking at a little over $1,000 Cdn.

I don't know about Samson's but you can get Sailun's for around 600.00 U.S from Simple Tire and they ship where ever you want in the U.S. but i don't know about Canada. 14 ply has got to be better no matter who makes them but Sailun's do have a good track record. Good-luck.

We had a multiple blowout and had to put Samson's on our old rig. They seemed to be good tires, but did ride rough compaired to the G614's

I bought my Sailuns at KalTire in Saskatoon, Sk. You could check with a KalTire in Calgary.

Sailuns are the rage right now but we stayed with the G614 GY.

We have decided we want Sailuns, but we cannot find somewhere in Canada to buy them. We have tried various tire dealers in Calgary (we'll be there July 20). We may have to wait until we get home, and see if the local tire dealer can get some. DH has been in touch with Sailun Canada, and they said Fountain Tire and Kaltire, but neither of them have them or can even get them in. Very strange situation! We will contact Simple Tire, but I doubt they would ship to Canada. Most companies do not.

We used Samsons on our 2005, tough tire. Needed two tires, took a chance with four. Never a problem.
