Brand new Montana stuck in Port Aransus

I just got done talking to a Navy buddy who got his new Montana 5 wks ago and has it parked at the Palms RV Park in Aransus. His new truck won't be delivered until mid Sept because delays. He packed his car and drove to San Antonio this morning. He filled all the tanks full with water and closed the slides. He hopes it will make it through the storm. He had thought about staying but myself and several other Navy buddies changed his mind. He couldn't rent a tow vehicle or get a towing service to haul it to safety so it sits where it sits.. Hopefully it will survive the storm. He was planning on joining the MOC in the next week or so.. Good Luck Donny!

Wish I was closer and could haul it out of there for him; guess it's a little late now. Hope it make it and he has good insurance.

Go Navy!

If it was in the Pioneer RV park the local police report the whole park as a total loss.

update 2

Good news, Rig fine, no damage except when neighbor fence flew into bumper. He is going to try and find a tow over to NAS Corpus. The CG doesn't expect to get power back for at least two weeks.. If anybody on here has a tow vehicle in that area give me a holler. His new truck is still 3 to 4 weeks out..

Great news. They were nearly directly in the eye of 130+ mph winds. I am in Texas but nearly 500 miles away.

Areas around Houston didn't get the winds but have received nearly 30" of rain with possible 50" before it finally moves out.

Current prediction is for the storm to drift back south the next two days off the coast area of Port Aransas/Rockport, then move up the coast toward Houston before turning north and heading inland. Going to be a lot more wind and water before it gets better.

Well the storm hit Beaumont,Tx and flooded by wife's brother's house and my wife's sister's house. They haven't been able to get back to there house's yet to see just how much damage. My mother-in law is 89 years old and doesn't have any electricity and home by herself. She has a phone and seems to be ok but as soon as the waters go down i'm taking her out of her house and bringing her to mine. This is no time to get stubborn but the older we get i guess the more stubborn we get. She lived about a mile from her son and daughter right between them. She's tough as nails and rides her stationary bike 2 to 3 miles every day.

update 3 Only damage to rig is ladder smashed by neighbor fence and one smal plastic fender was pulled off the screws.. Next issue is trying to get his new truck as the dealership is now an empty parking lot.. No info yet on who to contact about it yet. Maybe next week. If Irma shows a track toward the gulf he will try to have the rig towed to San Antonio.
