dish 211z complete signal loss
I had a program set to record on dvr around 2 am on my dish vip211z receiver. Never happened as the screen said complete signal loss. I checked the satellite and it was aimed about 45 degrees from where it belonged.
Then the next day the same thing happened. I just rescanned in both cases and everything was fine. Anyone have this problem with a receiver?
Thanks.

What system are you using for an antenna? I had a Pathway X2 and if overnight dew got on the surface it would loose signal and try to search again for the satellites and not find any until the dew was gone.

Yep, I do have the X2. But it happened once during the day - don't remember if we were watching at the time or not.
Strange thing is that it ended up aiming at the tree 45 degrees off!!! Both times.

45 degrees to the east? I have a Tailgater, not an X2, with a 211k but on occasion when it has a problem finding the western arc satellites I have pulled the cover and watched it work. After trying in a slightly west of south direction and not finding the western arc sats, it will turn about 45 degrees to the east and search before giving up and reporting no sats found. A retry sends it back to the south and it finds the sats. No clue what is going on. But mine has always been on the initial setup. Can't remember it ever losing signal and then rotating.

Thanks BB_TX. I think we are seeing the same thing. I was on the western satellites and I think the eastern ones are about 45 degrees east. I didn't think of that before. Not sure why I lost signal tho, but it hasn't happened now for about 5 or 6 days.
