Up grading batteries
I will be picking up my new 3402rl shortly. I plan on installing 6v Trojan batteries in place of the 12v standard battery. So question is if I show up at dealer with my two T-105's and cross cables is there room to place them without initial modifications to compartment area. I am not wanting to purchase the 12v from them to turn around and have to get rid of it but, want everything up and running to test during walk thru.

The OEM battery box will not hold two batteries.

Jim's correct the room is there, but you'll also need to bring a battery box or use sealed batteries.

X2 on Dick's comment. Unless the batteries are sealed you need another box and will need to connect it to the outside vent.
Also you will need to make sure the existing battery box will fit one of your batteries as not all boxes are alike and the T-105's have a specific dimension.
Check this link to a box that should fit:

Good Luck,
Les

You will probably need 2 new boxes or a double as the T-105's are too tall for the standard box

Take the OEM battery box and use for a junk box somewhere. The box listed is a good box as are the old Blue Sea battery boxes. They can get price but they are strong and are way better quality then the OEM units. We got the Blue Sea box for our Trojans..

Put 4 T-105s in after taking out two 12v NAPA crappies. Yes, the Trojans are a completely different size - taller especially. Got the battery boxes from Amazon for about $46 for four. If you're only putting in two, the PVC venting isn't difficult. I had to get a little creative with mine, but am still using the original vent.
The only problem with going with really good batteries is that you won't get them fully charged off the stock converter. It only puts out 13.4V and you need 14.5 at least according to Trojan. The 13.4 is only good to float them, not to charge them.

I am with you on the charging issues and planned on addressing that, also my end goal will be to have 4 batteries possible 6. I have been researching using solar and that is why I wanted to get Trojans installed and change converter.

I have six and got sealed batteries so I didn't have to deal with the box issue.
