Water heater elec. switch ?

My 10gal. water heater electric (rocker) switch on the outside of my Mountaineer trailer will not move.

Has anyone replaced their switch ? How and what part number ?

Lubricate with WD40 and push hard. This happened to me and after breaking it loose it now works OK.

Did you pull the pin out of the switch? Just making sure not to break something.

I had that problem. What seems to happen is the switch is plastic and if it gets stuck because of corrison, like mine die, the plastic will actually melt a little. You can lube and push all you want, but it won't do any good. The switch cost about $6. Make sure that it will take 20A and has the cotter pin lock and you should be okay.

I was lucky as my switch did not melt as Mikes. This past weekend I sprayed oil on my elctric heater rocker switch and it broke free.

Thanks all

It's only a matter of time before it fails completely. A couple outings back, I had to remove the switch and join the wires manually.
It's a cheap and easy fix, our local hardware had them.
I elected to get the lighted version for future relocation inside as well as a spare. Kind of nice to see it lighted.

OK Bruce, how did you get the bug in the screen, thought I was going to have to tear my computer apart to get it. Kerry

LOL...I found it on another site and just had to have it.
Right click on the image and save it to your puter, host it on Photobucket, and insert it into your sig with the image tags.

Ozzie,
With your disclosure, the MOC forum may be subject to a future infestation of little screen crawling bugs.......Wonder if we can get a signature based zapper or swatter?????
