Cable/Satellite Connection

We have a satellite system we take with us on our trips in our 2006 3670. Occasionally we are in a spot that we cannot use the satellite, but have cable available. I think the guy that hooked up our satellite equipment did not do the best job. We have to unhook all the satellite connections and figure out how to re-hook the cable when this happens. Do any of you know how we can set up our connections to switch back and forth between satellite and cable?

You'll have to buy something similar to this and follow the installation instructions. Check around at say your local Radio Shack for price comparision. You cannot run a cable input directly through your satellite receiver as you've experienced already. http://www.campingworld.com/browse/s...=19691:src=TSC

GElmore does you unit have the satellite prep package? If so, you do have to do some splitting of the cable inside the unit to run from the satellite to the received and then back to the DVD and then out to the TV. If you go to cable, just by pass the DVD/satellite box. Be sure to turn off the power booster for the antenna. I do like the idea about the control unit from Camping World. I have no experience with them, but have seen them at CW. Dieselguy is on to something.

Thanks for your replies. We did have one of those type switches in our old motor home. We will probably look into installing one of them in this unit.

GELmore,
Just go to Radio Shack and buy an A/B slide switch and splitter. That's the way I've got mine hooked up and it works without having to do a whole lot of extra work each time. Might take a little figuring out at first but once past that then you'll be home free.
