You need to look at the bed when the slides are brought in. Some models require the rounded corners to keep from having the mattress press on cabinetry or dressers. The length can also be a factor and must be checked when the slides are in also. We opted for a Sleep Number radius bed which was an exact replacement footprint for the original bed and is about 99.8% better!!

I made a post about this awhile back. True.. horrible. Started researching air beds, etc. For the house, we bought a Temprapedic bed with the air bladders. Hated it. In a way it made sense.. but thru the softness of the top two inches of foam, there is an air bladder below. While it confirms to the body, once the air moves, the plastic is HARD IMHO. So, taking some of the advice from folks here, I bought a topper from Costco. Memory foam. WOW, what a difference. It was a couple hundred.. but it is now very acceptable, it not very good. We will have a far better opinion after our 6 week trip starting at the MOC gathering at 7 Feathers in Oregon.

I find the bed comfortable. But then, I could sleep on a bed of nails.

We bought a memory foam topper over that standard mattress.
It made all the difference in the world.

Our 2010 came with king bed and we regret not changing to a queen when purchasing trailer. Had to buy all new bedding and the quality of mattress is terrible. Purchased a 2" foam topper for mattress, but the original already had 2 ruts in it from 3yrs of constant use. Again, the RV manufactures go for the CHEAPEST quality on many of their items when building. You should not have to immediately replace beds because of poor quality. That is why we are always replacing numerous items after our 1yr warranty runs out.

In our '14 with a king bed, we added a 4" topper from WalMart. 2" of memory foam 2" of support foam. $149.00
We let it air and come to size for a few days, then using a electric knife whacked 2" off the side and then cut the corners to fit the existing round corners.
Sleeps better than the house. Love it.

I also am looking for a new mattress. I have a 3" memory foam topper on my current mattress and it makes it just OK. I am looking at Dynasty mattresses 10" memory foam, Anybody know anything about this company? Hate to buy anything site unseen or without a tryout or some kind of review for someone that has one. Gets good reviews from Amazon but sometimes I wonder about those also.

We have a Bergad Isoform "Classic" memory foam in the Monty and the s&b. They made our rv king with the 12" radius bottom at no additional charge.
We did try a foam topper first, but Pat has back issues and that didn't work for her.
Some folks cut a larger mattress with an electric knife, but then the factory mattress cover won't fit properly.

A standard queen size memory foam fit in our bedroom just fine with no alterations.

Pulled the plug on a new mattress today. Stopped at a store (national chain) called Furniture Row in Erie Pa.. One building houses four stores, Sofa Mart, Bedroom Expressions, Oak Express and a Denver Mattress. They had in stock several RV mattresses. (I have a short queen). The wife and I both liked one that was called a Madison RV Firm. It was quite comfortable and very reasonably priced @ $449. So we purchased one. Bye, Bye OE mattress and topper. On a side note we were also in Hamburg NY at Camping World looking at some new 2013 & 2014 Montana's. Everyone had a king pillow top and I can honestly say they are worse than the mattress I'm going to get rid of. The two 2013's also showed signs of the graphics starting to crack and peel on the front cap and on the curb side. Jeeez!
Here is the web address for Furniture Row www.furniturerow.com
For those looking to replace sofas or recliners they also had RV sized furniture in stock reasonably priced.
