Honda 6500 Installation
As you can see from the enclosed pics (if they come through), I installed a Honda 6500 gas generator in the generator compartment of my 3100. Ordered gen prep and then removed aluminum box to make room. Gen has it's own trolley and comes out and goes in on removable tracks. Have a winch attached to let out and pull in and securing pins for travel. Gen is hooked up to the installed transfer switch and works really well (have had 5500 watts being supplied to the trailer). Also has two steel cables and padlocks to make "borrowers" think twice. May not work for everybody, but works excellent for me especially during 5 week hunting trips in central Idaho dry camping.

That is a very nice job. I would make sure the compartment is sealed good and a good CO detector in the unit. Some of the units have cables going up through the top and is not sealed very good.

Looks great and very innovative. You may want to resize your pics to 800 x 600 max (forum guidelines) before one of those nefarious mods or administrators comes along and changes them to links.

Sweet setup for a portable generator. Great job. I ran a Honda 2000 on a homemade slide out shelf and it worked great. I used the enclosed metal compartment and never had any issues. Always ran the Honda with the shelf and generator in the out position.

Good looking setup. Having removed the sealed box, be careful about CO2.

Great looking setup and a heck of a lot better generator than the OE one offered. I have a 3000 watt but it is mounted in a aluminum compartment in the back of my TV. Have you any idea what the cost of operating the gas genset would be compared to propane.
I just have to ask: If you are hunting for 5 weeks, assuming you are successful, how do you deal with the meat. I cannot imagine coming back to camp to the luxury of a Montana after a days hunting. Wall tents and Yukon stoves were our headquarters for most of my hunting years.
