Tires, Tacomas USA DOT 4804

My 2005 Mountaineer 348RL came with Tacoma LT235-85-R16 Made by Cooper tire here in USA. Glenn stated once that they were the best tire Montana ever used then. They have 10,000 miles on them and look brand new. Load range E rated at 3040. My axle weight on the CAT scales runs 9000 to 9500 max. They'll be 7 years old in Oct. Should I be concerned about replacing due to age? I keep speed under 65 always. Will put max of 3000 miles on in next year. Advise please.

Ray, they are good tires, but they are also nearing the end of their life as far as time goes. They may look fine cosmetically, and the tread may be in excellent shape, but the flexibility of the rubber has diminished over time and the tires will probably start to crack if you keep useing them.

Thanks Lonnie, I was hoping you'd respond. That's what I was concerned about. I wish I was close to your shop so I could get them from you. I'm going to order the BFG Comm T/As God Bless, Ray

P.S. Lonnie, what PSI should I run. I can't find a load chart for them so I've been running 75psi since I'm well under max weight rating, actually I run about 75% on max wt rating. I don't want to be underinflated, or overinflated. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again, Ray
