REMOVING SCREENS FROM THE O-HEAD VENTS

WITHOUT TEARING SOMETHING APART AND THEN FINDING AN EASY FIX, I'M GOING TO ASK FIRST., HOW DO YOU REMOVE THE OVERHEAD SCREENS FOR CLEANING? FROM THE INSIDE(I HOPE) OR FROM THE OUTSIDE?

ALSO HAVE AN ISSUE WITH MY INTERIOR LIGHTS ON THE SLIDE ONLY. NO POWER.(the two small travelling lights)
IS THERE AN EASY WAY TO TRACK THE WIRING?

THANKS,
BILL

On the screens, just take the lower trim from the ceiling (four screws)and remove the knob. Screen should drop right out. On the slide, check the coiled wiring underneath the slide. I know on our slide, it will get pinched when retracting the slide. I take a broom or such, and use the handle to hold the wire down while DW retracts the slide.

SlickWillie, sounds like you need a spring or bungee cord to hold that wiring back.

Carlson posted on how to remove vent screens for cleaning. Do a search by name.

It's on a spring. When it retracts, it tends to get loops in the wire. One of these tends to twist up. We had retracted it a number of w/o problems. I hold it down "just in case" now.
