Replace Thermostat Ac/furnace

Just wondering if anybody has replaced their thermostat? Ours has been acting weird...have to turn the Ac to 50 for it to start. We have the 3380RL Montana 2004.

[I/quote]I called the RV repair outfit and they told me they would replace the thermostat. It is a dometic manual type thermostat..no remote one. They'll be coming out first thing in the morning. They are a very reliable company and knew right away what we needed and why it did not work.

It did not take him long to replace the thermostat. Works good now.

GREAT! Did he replace the control board in the unit as well?
I changed the type of thermostat, so I had to change wiring as well as the control module, I thought that was what he was doing.
Generally, if there is a problem with the thermostat (system) both the module and the thermostat have to be changed as a set.
Nice to have that problem behind you.

[/quote] They replaced the whole unit with a new one. Our thermostat did not come with any remote.

I know there is no remote, I guess I am not making myself clear,
Here is what I changed, sounds like he just changed the thermostat.
1 item. No other control that is associated with the thermostat, see slide show and picture on link below:

On the old analog thermostats, you could replace the thermostat with a residential one, and merely lose one speed on the fan. I used a Hunter programmable I had replaced in the stick house. I never used the low speed anyway.

Do you recall what they said as to why it did not work?
