Inverter's

For those of you that installed a inverter in your unit, what make and size did you install?

(Keeping my head down!) AIMS 3000w, since I got it for a really great price (under $700 w/remote) & can still afford a better one if it dies!

Forgot to add. The one I got also has an MPPT solar charge controller built in (besides the transfer switch & battery charger). Figure that'll be a backup controller.

We have found our 2000W sufficient for our needs.

Harbor Freight 2000W MSW installed 7 years ago to try it out and it is still going today. And yes it runs my digital TV, satellite receiver, stereo sound system, computers, WiFi Router, Cell phone signal amplifier and coffee pot without burning them up.

OK, you guys that have installed the 2k inverters, what are you using for battery banks and how are you charging the battery banks.

On my last rig (motorhome) I had a 2K inverter/100A charger, with 4x130W solar panels with a Blue Sky 60A MPPT controller. 4X6vdc golf cart batteries. About $4k back then, a bit less today with panel prices down. I did all the install.

There is more to it than just installing a inverter.
