I have done this and I am still in the process of doing it. Eventually there will not be any RV furntiture in Miss Montana.
I think the main considerations are:
Can you fit it through the door?
Can you easily bring in the slides?
Can you secure, (if needed) when going down the road?
Does it's placement lend itself to good weight distrubtion when towing?
I have replaced the oak dinnet with an antique oak ladies game table and moved it to the back window. The proper chairs for this table is still a work in progress. I plan to build a custom office area where the original table was and I have my eye on a Studio Sofa at World Market.to replace the jackknife sofa.
So I really don't see any "pitfalls" just certain considerations.
