Awning question

Hello all,

We are new here so I am checking things out. In my 2010 Montana Mountaineer 345DBQ I have an Awning issue which I am trying to work out with the dealer. I just wanted to see if anyone else has had this issue.

The awning is one of the new power type awnings where you push a button and it comes out. Pretty much straight forward. Well when its all the way out I cannot open my entry door fully be cause it is so low. I have extended the armes on the side as much as they will go and nothing. I have to retract the awning just about one full rotation to get the door to open wthout hitting. Dealer saying not sure whats up thats how its supposed to be ya know the typical crap. They are waiting to hear from heystone at this point.

It appears to me that they installed the entire awning system to low on the camper.

Thanks in advance for your input.

Greg

Greg,

Just experienced the same thing on our 347 THT. It turns out,(after looking at the manual for the awning) that you can "hyper extend" the awning and it will lower the awning and the door will hit. Just back it up a bit or look at the manual for a picture.

Hope this helps.

Floyd,

Thanks for the advise. I did try to back it up a bit however inorder to back it up enough so it doesnt hit the door I have to retract it one full revolution thus not haveing he Flap hang down and not allowing me to angle the awning for rain run off
