Campgrounds near Orlando, FL

Any suggestions on a campground within driving distance of Orlando. We have two Brittanys a little over 40 lbs.

UPDATE: 12/28/13: Our plans are to spend a month at a campground not necessarily close to Orlando and visit with MOCers wintering in Florida and to see some of the state. Then about two weeks in or near Orlando to visit the attractions there. Our plans are in the beginning phase and hopefully they will come together soon.

Hi

I used Ponderosa RV Park in Kissimmee last summer for a couple of months.

Phone 407-847-6002

The Florida Turnpike borders this park on one side. If you are noise sensitive you may not like it.

We stayed in Ft Wilderness at DW and would recommend it while visiting because of transportation to park. Then maybe a nearby place for extended stay. We had two Schnausers last time we were there. We hav e done it both ways and feel the transportation is worth it , not having to negotiate traffic and find parking.

George, give this place a look see. turkeylakepark@cityoforlando.net 407-246-4486 Its not a very big place but they do have a place to run those Britts in the large event parking area. This park is a little unknown so I just ruined it. Its out by the turnpike and it will be a good jumping off place to go visit whom or whatever.

George:

Phyllis and I are at Blueberry Hills RV Park in Bushnell, FL until 4/18 ..

I know they have space available.

We are 1/4 mile of I-75, Exit 314, approx. 60 miles from Tampa to the South and Orlando to the East.

Good Luck

There is a city park in Orlando named Bill Frederick Park. It has only a couple of full hookup sites by you can stay for months. The park itself is large and plenty of room to walk the dogs.

Here is the link to the park information

Look at this C.G http://www.mousemountainrvresort.com/#!gallery Several Moc'ers have wintered there including us. None of us are still there as there are far better C.G's to winter in. It is defiantly not IMO a 4 star C.G. But would fit your needs for a two week or even a one month stay. They do have pull troughs that are large enough for the Montana and they are near everything. They did keep some pull through sites open for the short term Disney visitors.

If you are at all interested let us know and we will drive over to see what they have.It is just one exit down from us and there are many MOC folks in the area. Our C.G is full.

Thanks everyone. We have made a small modification to our trip to Florida. What Started out to be about 5 or 6 weeks is now a 2 month stay. We have a site for the entire time thanks to Steve and Patti Emmel. We appreciate everyone's input.

the Emmel's are just up the road from us and that is a very nice campground. Many MOC'ers in the area. A trip to Disney is in your Future.

Rich, as you know, West View Ridge not a cg! Mouse Mountain is a cg, our lots are individually owned as is your resort.

I know that Steve but any place where a bunch of Rv are in one place is a C.G to me just as what we do is camping no matter how much we paid for our RV. Old habits. I get flack on another forum because I call the Montana a "camper" and what we do as "Camping"

You are right both our "Residences" are not campgrounds but better described as a Rv condo community as the lots are individually owned. They are still nice campgrounds..
