Molding on basement doors

Just finished putting 1/4 round molding strips on the bottom of all the basement doors. The molding is on the inside of the aluminum strip that holds the weather stripping. Used 1 1/4" sheet metal screws to attach the molding. In the past the aluminum strip that holds the weather stripping always gets bent putting items in and out of the storage area.

I'd actually thought about using aluminum angle to do that.
