Mud Room?

We will still be here in NJ working through the Winter. Yep, the awning will have to be retracted once the ice and snow start.

Does anyone have any ideas about some sort of temporary, sturdy, relatively inexpensive, even DIY idea about some sort of substitute for awning? Someone here suggested building a "mud room" type of enclosure.

Rain, sleet, snow (especially the slushy kind it will be here in NJ) are messy, especially bringing in a Lhasa-type dog. I know this from experience roaming through snow country last Winter.

So! Some enclosure/cover sure would be nice to shake off the snow, etc. before entering indoors.

Any ideas?

We spent the last winter in Montana as my husband was working there. He skirted our trailer and under the front he made a door on the side and that is where his "mud" room was. He had two heaters under the 5th wheel with one being in that room,, worked like a charm.

Put in goggle portable garages and you will see a list of websites with portable shelters. see
Portable Garages

Some of these shelter are relatively inexpensive and quite sturdy.

Cmawendy,
If you look at the top line in a persons post you will see a little icon that has an open envelope. Click on that and it will open a window to send an email to the poster. RVWheels

Steve beat me to it! The portable garage idea is what I was going to suggest too! It would work to keep the snow off and in front of the Monte door and also have a spot to get the Lhasa-type dog cleaned off before bring into the Monte after a romp in the snow!
