Tip

Just a general question they are delivering my 2019 3121RL to my house this afternoon, my question is what is a fare tip to give the driver.

A tip is a gift. It should be received with gratitude regardless of the amount.

Nothing, that's his job. He is being well paid for delivery. After our truck was totaled in Canada we had to have our trailer hauled back to Eugene Oregon and taken to our storage facility. Was expensive, can't remember cost. Canadian insurance paid for this since other driver was at fault. Didn't tip driver then. I don't believe in all these things your expected to tip for.

I trucked for 20 years and never got a tip and didn't expect one because I was being fairly paid for the work or I wouldn't have been doing it. Some places I went did have complimentary samples of their product(s) available for drivers.

It's well established a tip is 20%.
That's going to be an expensive delivery.

Question

I am assuming that you already did the PDI at the dealer? If not, why not?

I see a lot of cheapskates on here...lol.

I, personally, would probably give the guy something in the $20 to $50 range.

Totally agree with not tipping .
42 years retired Teamster never once tipped for a job well done.

Why would you consider tipping someone who's getting a fair hourly wage to do his/her job? Unless they do something waaay out of their job description for you, don't even contemplate it. Please. This American tipping thing is getting to be too much. I'm seeing tip jars in the weirdest, most inappropriate places. Let's get this under control! I know people that tip highly paid workers.

and off to the races

Was sitting in a lounge chair by the pool at one of those high dollar Hotels in the Bahamas one year. They had a employees concierge station a few feet from me with 2 girls sitting there. A guy walk up and asked where the mens room was. One girl stood up and pointed with the directions and off he went. Then I overheard the girl say " did you see that and he didn`t even give me a tip". Being the tolerant guy that I am I sat up and told the little twit "Your lucky you have a job were your get paid to sit on your butt and do nothing all day ".
Not everyone should get tipped for doing their paid job.

You want to get tipped? Take the wife out to dinner tonight and tell her you can`t imagine life without her.

You should have asked for directions to the bathroom and for your tip "Buy low sell high"

20% tip is a joke across the board. you can offer him lunch and a drink, that'll do it.

The churches ask that you give 10% of your income....yet waiters/waitress and some other service sectors ask for lots more. Some establishments even print on the bottom of receipts suggested tips starting at 18% and going up from there to as high as 30%.

Im also a 30plus year "relocation engineer" (trucker) , and have yet to get a tip for providing great customers experiences. If they want more money....get a BETTER JOB!!!!
