Bedroom Slide
We have a 2011 3400RL. When we push out the bedroom slide, the bottom pushes out first creating a hard angle and then the top starts to follow finally catching up and ending up straight again and sealed properly. The same happens when we pull the slide back in. Wondering if this is a known issue and if I should be worried about it and looking harder for the problem. All of our other slides move our basically straight. Thanks!

Is this a cable slide or hydraulic slide.

Assuming your slide is hydraulic, which I believe they all were in 2011, the bottom is where the mechanism is to move the slide. The top is along for the ride. Actually, all of your slides should operate the same way.

I have had this problem on a laredo. lubrication fixed mine. I use a product called Ballistol. Best lube I have ever found. Use it on guns, knives, locks hinges slider hitch well you get the idea. It cleans and lubes. The metal gets "better" as you use it.

Used our 2010 for 7 years and 70,000 miles. It did that from the time it was new until we traded it in without an issue for us.

I agree. I think its normal. I cant see my bedroom slide move much since I am holding the switch. The others go in and out as you describe. The inside leading edge of the slides dive towards the floor and go in kind of kaddy whampus (if that's a word) until the top outside molding hits the side of the camper. Then the bottom of the slide follows raising the inside leading edge up away fro the floor. If that makes sense.

Thanks to everyone for their replies. The Monty is winterized now, but it will get a good lube job next spring. Glad to hear it’s probably not an issue. Happy winter everyone!

Do you use silicon spray to lube the seals?

No I would not use silicon. Use slide seal lube/303 protectant/baby powder Etc.

Some Service Departments use Pledge.
