You will hear alot of contreversy about this. I have had them on my last two trailers with not ill effects. But from what I get you void your warrenty if you attach it wrong or haul to much.
I built my own and haul a bike on the back, weight about 300 lbs. Since the pin weight is already high on my trailer I feel balances things out.

It was an easy build. You can bolt it on or as I did weld it on. Let me know if you want pics.

If you put a hitch on the back you are at risk for a voided frame warranty. Me? I wouldn't do it although I have a hitch. As soon as I found out about the voided warranty, I removed my bicycle rack from the hitch and haven't carried anything there since.

With an 03 model you are the warranty station. I wouldn't worry about it as long as it is installed correctly. I tow two quads behind our 5er. Last week I saw a Monty with a third axle installed behind the two regular axles and he had a Harley mounted on the back. When I asked him about it he said he had been all over the country with it for two years now and no problems.

The Hidden Hitch Model 82201 is an off the shelf assembly that will bolt onto most Montana's with a minimum of effort. Several of us here have done it.
