Problem With 6 Pt Lippert System

When I try to use my Lippert system I cannot retract the front legs. I get a message that says 'bad angle' and the control panel won't shut down unless I push the on/off button repeatedly. The same goes for when I try to enter manual; I have to keep pushing the buttons and then, it is not working.

Has anyone experienced this before?

Unplug it, wait about a minute and plug it back. See if that fixes it

I tried unplugging it three or four times but no go. I think I'm going to have to contact Lippert in the morning and hope for the best. We were supposed to be pulling out in the morning but that doesn't look likely now.

Not sure what hours there is someone at Lippert, but try calling them now. The worst that can happen is no one is there. Lippert is very customer friendly.

I called but they were closed. I'll try them in the morning.

Re unplugging, you have to totally isolate from both battery and pedestal.

Please share, because the solution to a problem with 4 point could also be a solution for 6 point plus other 4 point users would like to know what went wrong and how to fix it.

So the latest: I spoke with the Lippert representative this morning and he walked me through some things that did not work, including trying to adjust a manual valve. Since one of the legs is moving on the landing gear and the other one is not, he thinks there was a problem with the right leg not getting fluid properly. I tried to look for a kinked hose of some sort but I couldn't find anything.

A mobile service guy is going to come this afternoon and either he'll fix my problem or should be able to get it up on my truck so I can bring it to a service shop. I was supposed to be halfway to Pennsylvania by now. Oh well, could be worse.

Thanks for everyone's advice so far.

I am sure that you have checked the fluid level in the hydraulic reservoir? I just had a hydraulic hose blow on my 2014 BS382RL and had to refill and crimp hose with the hole in it just to get level-up legs up so I could take it to the dealer for warranty work.

.

Interesting. On ours, lip pert gave me specific instructions on rebooting the control panel by disconnecting all power feeds and that fixed our problems.

Same with me. Even installed a red plug so I could find it easily if I needed to.

Just a quick update from the road: turned out I had a bad control panel. RV tech replaced it and back in business!

I had a thought concerning all of this; I live in Rhode Island where the winter temperatures can go below zero. Wouldn't it make sense to unplug this control panel and bring it into a warmer temperature for the winter? I'm thinking I'll call Lippert and ask.

Thanks. I'm generally aware of it but I need to take the time to figure out exactly how to do it so I can be ready for an emergency I suppose.

The main issue is the congealment of the hydraulic fluid in cold temperatures. If you could warm the fluid tank, it would help, but you would still have all of the oil in the lines and rams. Not much you can do about it in cold temperatures.
