Slidetop cleaning from the ground
McGyver is alive and well.
I designed and assembled this device to clear off debris that accumulated on the top of my slides. Works great on awnings as well.
Pretty it's not, but it does the job (safely) and only cost me $60.
I'm not comfortable getting on the roof to sweep off the slides with a broom.
It uses a inexpensive leaf blower and some lightweight drain pipe. The nozzle can be rotated as desired. Laugh if you like but it takes me all of 10 minutes to clear off 3 slides.

All you need now is to add a mirror to it so you can see if you got all of the stuff off of the slides and out of the gutters!
I guess that I now need to hit the local Home Despot and get me the needed stuff. I'm always getting up on the roof with a broom to do the job, and it's a real PITA when it is raining out

For a "just retired guy", you do need to find a hobby fast. Bring it out to the academy for a plebe review. See you soon.

Great idea! I think I would have used a reducer and smaller pipe. Lighter and would take up less space to store.

Actually it has a coupler in the middle of the long pipe. I predrilled 4 holes on each side of the coupler through the pipe and secured it with screws. I only need to remove 4 screws on one side of the coupler to pull the long pipe apart for transport. All other parts and the leaf blower stay attached.

I carry it in the bottom pass through bay. Fits nicely.

Perhaps a future mod for it.
The velocity of the air coming from the discharge is more than adequate as is.

Try using the pipe for a central vac system. Thinner wall pipe so less weight. I happen to have an extra 8 5' sections and som fittings.

Good suggestion. I'll look at that kind of pipe. Would you find it in say a Lowes or Home Depot?
