2015 3720. We should be able to use 1 A/C, the fridge and water heater with 1 or 2 lights on 30 amps?

I would think so. If for some reason you cannot, put the frig on propane. When we have been on 30 amp sites with a pigtail, we have always been able to do what you describe.

Yes ,we are at a 30AMP spot right now and we are Alot and we have one A/C going,electric water heater and fridge and can use the micro OR Vacuum but not both the same time and the LED lights inside and TV which do not use to much power,it is no big deal having 30 AMP unless it gets real hot and you got to use 2 A/C's then you are in trouble,you will get pretty good at balancing 30 AMP usage,you will blow the pedestal breaker a few times and you learn quick what you can use at the same time,but do not blow the pedestal breaker too many times because they get weaker each time they blow and the host will have to put a new one in(Gee I wonder how I know this)

Thanks for the replies. We keep blowing the pedestal , so the amperage may not be the 30 as advertised?

ac running is about 12 amps with it being 15 at startup, fridge is going to be 5-7 amps if it is the norcold 1200 series, water heater is 1500 watts approx or 12 amps when it kicks into heat mode. The game has to be getting ac running then after awhile attempting to run water heater....but why? Run the fridge and water heater on propane and enjoy one ac running. John

Our 2002 2955RL is 30 Amp only one Ac never had a problem except trying to run two electric heaters
Coffee Pot and toaster etc.just have to balance the load on different circuits

The water heater on propane produces water that is lukewarm at best! Hotter on electric!

If your water heater is only making warm water, you can replace the 12 volt thermostat, which is what controls the water temp when in gas mode. Both the 120 volt and the 12 volt thermostats should be very close to the same temp.

Being a new montana, you should be getting the same water temp from running propane as using 120vac built in heater...so you may just have an issue there and that could be that the gas pressure was set low by mistake when the heater was manufactured or low pressure coming into it due to a manufacturing fault by keystone. I would believe the latter first...a crimp in the gas line, etc. Most rv'rs don't understand the technical details of the water heater, so don't feel like you are alone on this. This is an area where a good mobile tech with the equipment and knowledge are needed to find the root cause. Might the gas issue be that you turned on the gas valves on the propane tanks too fast? If you just open them up quickly, you will engage a safety device built into the system...they have to be slowly opened to wide open position. Also on the main switch-over regulator, if you turn the lever to select the other propane tank...does this result in better gas flow and faster water heating on propane? John

A new unit? The dealer should replace the control board on the side of the water heater. It sounds as if the "clix-on" for gas is defective or the "hi-limit" for gas is defective. Back to the issue: If the receptacle on the pedestal is warn, loose or corroded there will be problems. I have replaced many a cord cap (plug on the cord) and many receptacles thru the years as these 30 amp units just seem to go bad far more quickly than expected. The pedestal bad receptacle will cause your cord cap to go bad and that will cause another receptacle to go bad. kinda' like a virus this problem is carried from one to the other. If the blades on your plug are mis-colored or burnt or corroded, get it replaced. If the receptacle is loose find another!
