Just make sure when you put everything back together that the weep hole is towards the bottom (and hopefully it's that way before you start)!

Try to find a 1295, they are much brighter than the 1156 bulbs, but a little harder to find. Most auto part stores don't have them. Also, while you have the lens off, get some bright aluminum duct tape and cover the white background. It will really boost the brightness of the light.

Do people really use scare lights? We never use ours...haven't seen a need. What are we missing?

My dog insist I turn them on when I take him out to do his business at 10pm on those dark Colorado mountain nights.

I use the lights at night when exiting the rig. The lights are designed to startle and scare any wild critters that might be around before you exit the rig. I only do this prior to 10pm since most campgrounds require quiet time after that and includes turning off unnecessary lighting. After 10pm it's only the amber door light and flashlights when manuevering around.

This works. Once when camping in AZ it was about 6pm and dark outside I turned on the scare lights, then as we exited the rig I saw a large Warthog racing away! Imagine if I had just stepped out and surprised the animal with my body without the light? I could be posting a whole different story or not be able to post one at all. I didn't realize warthogs could be so big! And while they are ugly, them tusks look just awful!

George-- Get ahold of Michael and Kat(MOC name-- snfexpress) and order some LED bulbs from them for your scare lights. Can't remember what the number is but Miohael can tell you. They are give off more light and use less energy too. They don't give off the heat the incans do either thus not yellowing your lenses on the scare lights.

We use our scare lights quite often. When we leave for the evening, provided there is no one on the street side of us, we will turn on the scare lights. If we can't, we'll use the remote when we return.
