Lets see..I have been driving a school bus since Aug 27th and will continue through Nov 21st. This income will defray much of the cost of our Florida winter. I will be driving a bus for Disney part time and Helen will also be working at Disney to pay for our winter. If we did not do this we would be spending the winter in Northern Ohio. 4.00 per gallon would make things very difficult but we will not be denied our dream. I am not a bit embarrassed to admit that we can not afford 160.00 per tank fill ups on our retirement income only. Such is life.... Update ..just paid 74.66 in ULSD fuel to travel 187.3 miles to the C.G we are now at...Filled it at 65.45 at home to get here.No comment.

No matter what the cost per gallon, I will never stop driving my diesel truck and towing my RV. Life is too short and I have worked too hard to stop enjoying the things that I love the most. When the fuel budget starts getting low, I will take from the food budget to make up the difference. Great way to loose some weight while staying on the road... lol!

When you are on a fixed income it is a different story. COL will be 2.3% next year..My Medicare premium went up more than that. Our BC/BS health insurance will be going up 8%. We gave up all magazines and periodicals some time ago, We do not get a newspaper, we gave up our land lines and DSL and use the Verizon air card. We gave up Helen's car for a lease/insurance savings. We cut back on sat service. We will stay with my 04 Civic..no new lease, no new car. Looking toward next year and all the increases we are running out of things to cut back on. To live our dream we must supplement our income by taking part time jobs to pay for it. For the first time we had to take a small loan to get the new truck..We need to work to earn the payment. We will not stop driving the truck or travelling..But..we must change how we will pay for it. 160.00 gallon fill ups will be another obstacle to over come. We may have to work 4 days a week instead of three or 5 instead of 4..but there will be a point where we will have to throw in the towel.. We are not there yet...But I can see it from here...

I can't quite see it, but I can feel it coming. We will see.
