Converter Location in 2955

I have two questions about the 12V converter in my 2005 2955.

1. What brand is it?
2. Where in the heck is it?

I've found nothing in the owners manual. Usually I can find them by the buzzing noise they make. This one is either really quiet or really well hidden.

Thanks,
Russ

Mine is below the pantry...where the fuses and breakers are located.

Ours is a IOTA DLS-55 model.

This is their website:
http://www.iotaengineering.com/index.htm

It is located below the pantry, behind the circuit breaker and fuse panels. Hopefully, few of us will ever need to replace them.

The best way to see it is to remove the return air grille, under the refrigerator.

Wellllllll, Montana could not tell me if the converter in their rigs has the IQ-Smart Controller circuit or not. They told me to contact Iota. Iotas website says that they can be ordered with or without the controller.

Anybody here got a clue, anybody added one?

Thanks,
Russ

My converter did not have the IQ-Smart Controller circuitry built into it. I assume that Keystone installs the basic unit. I believe the designation for one with the internal controller is "DLS-55 w/ IQ Int".

I ordered the unit from Mastertech. It installs in just a few minutes. It took more time to decide where to permanently attach it to the cabinetry than anything else. After overcharging the batteries in a previous trailer, I believe it is worth the investment.

There is another thread in the "Improvements" discussion topics from December that has quite a bit of discussion on the IQ module. This will hopefully link you directly to it. Otherwise, expand the discussion topics to review "the past 120 days":

In our 2980RL it's located under the shower. Just remove the back panel on the right side of the basement, 4 screws, and it's there next to the furnace. Also if you have the new design you will find the hose for winterizing the system with RV antifreeze under there.

My dealer was concerned with the heat from the furnace that he added a small fan to help cool the converter.
Good luck,
