I was at the Tampa RV show this past weekend and there were a couple Montana reps there. I mentioned to one of them at our blank tank indicator always shows it is full.

He recommended the next time we dump to super elevate the front of the Montana. He said the sensor are in the rear of the tank and this might clear any foreign matter stuck to the sensors.

That makes no sense to me.

I can see how elevating the front might help with my galley tank, I don't think the bath room grey or black tank would empty completely if I did that. Maybe We should drop front and then raise to loosen, I think I will use the same procedures I used formany years and just pull the handles and rinse

I have been using RV Digest It and it helps to keep the sensors clean. You can purchase it at ACE Hardware.

Link about RV Digest It;

Another thing to check is your toilet paper. I must be safe for an RV.
Here is a link to test the paper;

The tanks we see at the factory are sort of sloped toward the drain outlet so then we should be tipping the RV on its side toward the drain. The drains are at the side of the tanks so what good is raising the front of the RV?????
Why are dump station sloped.

Hi

Poor quality is correct here are pictures of the poor quality that causes this problem.

, , , ,

Notice the 2 probes with the yellow and white wires to them are installed very near the bottom of the tanks. This results in the indicators showing ¼ regardless of how empty the tank is.

This the way they are supposed to be configured.

Then you get the incompetent or lazy dealers that have found out they can wash the tank and air dry it then the indicator will indicate empty and this makes the new owner think the problem is repaired.

I found these probes on Amazon and have ordered them. They get great reviews. I am taking my Montana in next week for warrantee work and one of my complaints will be the inaccuracies of the stock probes. I will hand them the new probes and ask that they be installed. I will probably have to pick up the tab on this one, but because we camp at state parks without full hookup I want to know when I need to dump.

We have had our new 3725RL all of about 2 weeks and the black tank probe is now stuck on 2/3 full. I was thrilled it worked for two weeks without fail. We use a ton of water plus I power flush when we dump the black every 3 or 4 days. I was hoping it would work for a year or so, guess not.

Hi

After repairing the incorrect Keystone installation mine have worked for three years but I do periodically have to fill the tanks with a mix of Calgon and Pine Sol and let set over night to keep them working.
