Bubba can smell

Today I had an interesting incident. I had an accessory plugged in and it failed. Lots of burned electrical stink. Turns out Bubba's check engine symbol illuminated. I called OnStar and they ran a diagnostic. All OK. After a while the cab aired out. When I used the truck again the check engine warning was out. Only thing I can figure is Bubba smelled the stink. There's no way my dad's 54 ford would have done that. Wonder what else Bubba can do.

I wonder how much info OnStar is collecting on you for GMC. Oh no, my paronoia raises it's ugly head again. I liked having OnStar in my 2001 2500HD, I wish Ford had a similar system.

I get a diagnostic e-mailed to me once a month from OnStar. The same info goes into a huge data base which includes all service data for the truck. If I get service done by GM it is automatically entered. If I do it or have the service done non-GM I can go into the data base and enter the item in the records. If you are buying a GM car or truck, any dealer can use the VIN to download a complete report on that vehicle. I think it is kinda neat.

Ed, Just push the blue button. When the advisor answers tell them to sign you up for the monthly diagnostic check. There is no charge for this.
