Need a good outlet for filter media
Washed the dust out of my AC's filter media to the point where they are stretched out of shape. Anyone have an good outlet for new media?

I've decided, you are a cruel man Dick. Talking about air conditioner filters this time of year. You should be ashamed of yourself. We're even in South Central Texas and haven't even thought about using our air yet.

Can't help it. It's still 81 degrees at this time of day. I'm a northern boy and this is way too hot for me.

If it's the filter I'm thinking about, you can buy the material at home improvement stores like Lowes or Home Depot and cut it fit.

Thanks, wasn't sure if they sold it. When home I get it from our HVAC folks, but their happy to give it to me because the store almost always spends enough money for them to qualify as a dependent.

I buy the window unit filters from Home Depot. There are a few in the pack. Just use your old filter as a pattern. I don't bother to wash out the filters as they are so inexpensive.

Hadn't thought of that, but it makes sense.

I buy the A/C foam filters at Wally World. They are .99 each and I can cut a new filter for both A/C's out of the same filter. If you only have one A/C, you can get two filters. I don't clean them either. It's more trouble than it's worth.

For full timers, I agree, however I can clean mine out at home with my air compressor in less than a minute and no waiting for it to dry.

Dick:
Get a hold of OZZ. I bet he could tell you what to use and where to buy it. Don't know if it has to be a certain density or not. Oz would know..... JB
