Pirit Hose

I broke down and purchased a Pirit hose this year. Just got it in and hooked everything up. Dumb question. The auto switch is on a pigtail that comes out of the end connecting to the Montana. Not a problem. Questions: It is wiretied to the hose with the button against the hose. Should I cut this loose or is it supposed to stay that way? Can't find anything in the docs about it.

NO! Don't cut it loose. It is the thermostat and the little button against the hose is the temperature sensor. We just got our new hose last week. Just make sure that the sensor/thermostat is outside of your convenience center if that is where your hookup is at. I have one of those short flex hoses with a couple other fittings that extends the connection closer to the bottom opening, puts the sensor well outside.

We bought one last year and it works great. The pigtail was added because many of their hoses were freezing because many rigs had the actual water connections just inside some door or flap and so the thermostat couldn't tell it was cold enough to come on. As said above, just make sure the little button is outside the convenience center.

Sounds good to me. I left it that way to make sure until I checked it out. I suspected it needed to stay that way but wanted to make sure. Thanks.
